Most people will have never heard of John Martyn, especially people of my generation, but he was one of the finest singer/songwriters the world has (n)ever known.
This man's music lifts me when I'm sad, breaks my heart, and heals it every time I hear it. His was possibly the most beautiful voice I've ever heard.
I don't really know what to say. So I'll leave it to John.
Time after time I held it just to watch it die
Line after line I loved it just to watch it cry
Bless the weather that brought you to me
Curse the storm that takes you away
Bless the weather that brought you to me
Curse the storm that takes you home
If this inspires you to go out and find the music of John Martyn, then my faith in the power of the internet might be restored.
RIP John - Go down easy my friend

I haven't really decided yet, at the moment I'm leaning towards an American Akita to go with my two Japanese, but also open to a few other large breeds, Siberians, Bernese Mountains etc. My first dog kind of found me and he's my best friend and my pride and joy so I'm hoping the next one will find me too!
I can thoroughly recommend getting involved with the Friends of the Akitas Trust. They're a lovely bunch of people, and they have a very active forum. My friend Vikki is one of their co-founders and national co-ordinators, and she puts her heart and soul in to her dogs, and to finding homes for abandoned akitas all over the UK. You should drop by and see if there's anything for you here >>> [link]
Keep in touch and let me know how it goes xx
